I hold a Master of Arts in Licensed Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Psychology degree from Carlow University. In my practice, I specialize in working with young adults, adults, and older adults, addressing a range of concerns including assistance with changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and developing personal coping strategies that target solving problems or support to address specific habits or patterns of thinking to reconnect with one’s inner self to transcend current limitations? Help you to understand what’s going on with you emotionally/mentally, address ambivalence towards change, improve motivation, or develop strategies to deal with difficult life transitions. As your counselor, I’m here to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I believe in a collaborative approach, working with you at your own pace to uncover your inner resources and empower you to be your best self. I’m here to support you every step of the way, helping you see all the possibilities. Let’s work together to create comfort, uncover resources, and make meaning in your life.
My approach
I warmly welcome you to a safe and supportive environment where together we can explore your thoughts and feelings. With extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness techniques, I integrate these approaches to benefit you in your journey toward better mental health. In CBT, I help you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to your challenges. My goal is to create a nurturing space where you feel comfortable and supported. ACT combines mindfulness strategies with behavior change techniques, allowing us to focus on acceptance, cognitive diffusion, being present, self as context, values, and committed action. During our sessions, I ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can embrace your thoughts and feelings without feeling overwhelmed. Understanding the triggers and symptoms of trauma, my trauma-informed approach uses techniques that promote stability and resilience, empowering you to regain control and build a sense of safety in your life. Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy, blending traditional therapeutic techniques with mindfulness practices like meditation, breathing exercises, and mindful movement. These techniques help you stay present, reduce stress, and manage difficult emotions more effectively, cultivating a greater sense of peace and well-being. Together, we will work towards your goals, ensuring you feel supported and understood every step of the way.
My focus
I am here to support and guide clients who are motivated to engage in the therapeutic process, offering a warm and empathetic presence on their journey toward healing and growth. My approach is tailored for individuals who value collaboration, authenticity, and empowerment in therapy. I specialize in helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and stress. My clients come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, yet they all share a common desire to explore their inner world, develop coping skills, and create positive change in their lives. I welcome young adults (18-24), adults, and older adults, providing a safe and supportive space for everyone to thrive.
My communication style
During our sessions, I want you to feel like you’re sitting with a trusted friend who genuinely cares about your well-being. My goal is for you to feel safe, understood, and accepted just as you are. You should feel free to express yourself openly, without fear of judgment or criticism. I strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere where you feel heard and validated, giving your thoughts, feelings, and experiences the space they deserve. Together, we’ll explore the depths of your inner world with curiosity and compassion. At the same time, I want our sessions to be purposeful and meaningful. I want you to leave each session with a sense of clarity and direction, knowing that you’ve made progress towards your goals. My hope is that you feel empowered and inspired to take the insights and strategies we discuss and apply them to your life outside of therapy. Above all, I want you to feel hopeful—hopeful about the possibilities that lie ahead, about your capacity for growth and healing, and about the journey we’re on together. We’ll navigate the ups and downs of life with resilience, courage, and grace.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I’ve always had a strong desire to help others. My upbringing and background have helped build the foundation for supporting individuals through difficulties in their lives. Although I didn’t know my path would lead me to counseling, all the roles I’ve had in my adult life have been in support of others. My professional journey and personal experience have deepened my commitment to helping others, reducing stigma, and supporting positive outcomes. I’ve found it cathartic and fulfilling to help individuals navigate challenges and become the person they want to be, live their lives to their full potential, and empower themselves. Seeing improvements in other’s well-being and quality of life continues to inspire and motivate me and is one of the main reasons I chose to become a therapist.
My goals for you
I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, where we work together as equals towards setting goals and developing strategies to overcome barriers to accomplishing your goals. Your experiences, insights, and preferences are central to our work, and I honor your unique perspective and wisdom. Together, we’ll co-create a therapeutic plan that feels meaningful and empowering for you.
My first session with you
In your first session with me, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we begin to build a foundation of trust and understanding. My goal is to make you feel supported, heard and understood from the very first session. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’m here to guide you toward healing and personal growth in a way that feels safe and empowering for you.
